Acting Reel

Background -This video comes from the demented and delightful mind of Matt Kenny and the good folks at Grave Dance. I don’t know how seriously you should take this fella’s advice. Shot by Matt Kenny.

Background – This medley started, my tongue planted firmly in my cheek, with Britney Spears’ “Lucky”, which seemed to pair oddly well with the theme from “Mash”, titled “Suicide is Painless”, then finished up with a Springsteen classic. Shot by Kyle Groff.

Background – This song was written by Rowland Salley and covered by John Prine, Allison Krauss and Robert Plant, and scores of others. Shot by Kyle Groff.

Background – I first hear this song as recorded by Dave Van Ronk, but it’s earliest known recording is 1937, though the origin and composer are both disputed. There’s a great article about the origin of the tune here (http://www.chimesfreedom.com/2014/02/24/the-journey-of-hang-me-oh-hang-me-from-the-scaffold-to-the-screen/). Shot by Kyle Groff.

Background – Every year, my friend Kara Ayn (also my partner for the Bryant Park kids shows) makes a series of videos around the holidays. Being far from home, she sends these holiday songs to her family across the country. In this one, my puppet Gary sings the Wham! classic “Last Christmas”.

Background – Another holiday song! In this one, Kara Ayn and I switch places, with her puppet singing and me accompanying her. Enjoy!
